Biography
Anna Nyakana was born in Berlin, Germany in 1986. Her family, with their roots in Moldova (Russia), left as refugees to Germany. However, they returned to Russia shortly after she was born and she spent her childhood years there. She is half Moldavian and half Ugandan. When she went to the States all she ever dreamed of was then possible in my eyes if she worked hard for it. Her family settled in Stamford, CT, a growing city close enough to N.Y.C., whose huge musical influence flooded them.





Career
Anna began singing at the age of 6, learned to read music at the age of 8 through learning the clarinet, taught herself guitar at 14, and learned classical piano at 16. After seeing the ugly side of the music industry, she decided to create her own entertainment company; Lockcity Entertainement. Staffed with a booking. management and promotion team, she is doing what is necessary to achieve her dreams. She plans to change the world with her music. Through non-profit organizations like Save Darfur, ONE, Genocide Intervention Network and Oxfam, she is beginning to make a difference in the world. Music is uplifting. Music is promising. Music is inspirational. "Music has always been and will always be my life. Now it’s my time to tell my story, are you ready?" She Says.
