KaSimba is a Kenyan Reggae/Dancehall artiste & Rastafarian spreadin' JAH message of UPLIFTMENT, AWARENESS & LOVE through WORD, SOUND-POWER! 

   Born 7th march in Nakuru-Kenya, KaSimba attended basic school in Molo, Nairobi & Dar Es Salaam. He relocated to Norway before enrolling in a 2 year art course,then moved on to a 3 year technical design/architechture course. Later he was forced to take a 4 year break from studies after suffering back injury. On recovery,he worked as the sound technician on a local norwegian tv station before enrolling in a studio engineering course that he completed in 2007 in order to further himself in the music. He grew up in a house that always had a"musical vibe" but he began to take music seriously during the 4 year break from studies. "When I had back injury I used music as a form of hypnosis to block out the pain I was experiencing, to me it was a much better alternative to the powerfull medication the doctors wanted me to use. Ultimately,am glad I chose music for it brought out in me mental strength I never knew I had..also when it hits you feel no pain".

   In Norway, KaSimba was fundamental in setting up the 1st soundsystem crew(Groundation Movement)& that helped spread the message of reggae& Rastafari in that country. They also had 3 radio shows every week for 5 years playing roots reggae, new reggae& dancehall/hiphop respectively. He is a Rastaman from birth but it took exposure to"babylon" for the young lion to conciously begin walking on that higher(Iya) path.

   KaSimba has worked with artists like Prophets of the city, Baby Cham, Pinchers, Spice, Dead Prez, Jua Cali, Albarosie, Kymani Marley, The Roots, Coolio, Admiral P, Jabaman, Trinity soundsystem(S), King Genesis soundsystem(Ja), Kette Lion Sound(UK), RdK soundsytem(Uk), Wayne Wonder, Ras Muhamad(Indo), Wageble(Sen), Stella Mwangi, LoopTroop&Promoe(S), Collie Buddz..to name a few. This he did as artist, studio-technician, host or producer. He has also been involved in youth exchange projects in Norway, France and Senegal.

   There are a couple of projects in line for 09 so be on the look out for this artist, humanitarian &"fire blazer". After many years away from the motherland, one of KaSimba's goals is to set up a base in Kenya & to be a part of the vibrant local musical fraternity. Also, to share & learn with/ from the musical community in East Africa, Africa and eventually..."to di world".

   It has taken Time, but he is certain that the future is bright & the future is now.
